I would like to lock the payment terms to normal users, 

When creating sales order/quotation user will not be able to select the payment term, 

The field will be automatically populated with default value applied to the contact. 

The administrators will be having an option to change it if required. 

How should i approach the solution on this. 

Is making the field read only resolve this.
