Hi there!

Having a BoM in BoM and the lower level BoM is MTO and Production, when you issue a Manufacturing Order for the upper level BoM and assign a Routing to it, the generated Manufacturing Order for the lower level MTO BoM is not copying the routing information - which is logically somewhere acceptable, even if it would be nice to have the opportunity to set this copy by a flag. The problem is, that the generated Manufacturing Order is in the state "Awaiting Raw Materials" and cannot be even edited: you cannot add a Routing to it. It hurts, when you set the routing "required", and the lower level BoM can only be cancelled. Or do I miss something? Is there a way except for programming, to set this problem? Oh yes, I am speaking about version 8.

thnx, Karl

Just to "shoot out" the easy way - and answering my own question partially: there is a workaround: you can create a Work Order to the generated Manufacturing Order (of the lower level BoM), and there you can specify the Routing of the higher level BoM, but imagine, that this should be done on the production floor frequently ....
