I'm trying to add a manufacturing order which doesn't need any raw materials from my end. So it doesn't need any BOM. But I can't create it? Is this possible?
I need this in manufacturing route, not via purchasing.

this is also what I'm looking for
I'm working on a "transformation industry" area where we get materials from partners and we only apply some treatments/services on the materials and then we send them agin to the customer.
So we don't really need a BOM but just define some routings and operations to be done (very similar to a project)

I am also looking for the answer.
We have real manufacturing but still needs services to be in manufacturing order.
Example of Bill of material:
01 Programmed card
01-1 Card (type: Storable product)
01-2 Service for card programmation (type: Service)
When I run scheduler I get manufacturing order with only one line (01-1, "Card"). But I need two lines - so that operator will not forget to do the real programmation.
Does anyone has solution for such case?

This is a miracle! How do you do that??? Joke aside, are you talking about subcontracting, providing a service or what else? How can you manufacture something that does not need material and/or labour?
Yes, it needs materials. But the company doing the manufacturing is spending money on it, not us. So we don't need the BOM.
So this is subcontracting?
