Is there any way to find out why a particular module is installed in 8.0?  Basically what is depending on it that caused it to be installed?

Go to Settings > Local Modules > Click on the module > Technical data tab > Scroll down to the "Dependencies" Section.

I don't see a "Technical data tab" (or any tabs at all) after I click on a module. Is that for 8.0?

I see it now, I just needed to check "Technical features" for the admin user. Now it shows me a list of dependencies, but they appear to be the modules the selected module depends on, not the modules that depend on the selected module. So I still don't know why the selected module is installed.

The module you clicked on depends on the modules in the list. If you want to know why a module is installed, just make an advanced search on "Dependencies Contains xxx" where xxx is the module you are inquiring about. For example: Why is "website_mail" installed? Because I installed the Blog application (website_blog).

Where can I make that advanced search? I tried searching for "Dependencies Contains website" under Local Modules but nothing came back.

Use the arrow in the search bar.
