Recently i was configure a point of sale on odoo 12 community edition, i want to know if the IoT box can help or the posbox?
I don't know if the IoT box works on the community edition. If the answer is not, what i need to do.

Yes the IoT Box work with CE
But you need a subscription to have a certificate
You can use the self-signed certificate of the IoT but you need to accept it to use the display or the printer

I have version 20_02 on my raspberry 3B+ but it doesn't print the status receipt on the thermal printer. It has green & red LEDs on. What do you think could be wrong here?

Yes I know I can download the image but I am gestting this error message.
Make sure you are using IoT Box v18.12 or higher. Navigate to https//192.168.1.XXX to accept the certificate of your IoT Box.
I think without certificate I can't get it works. And we need to pay to get certificate.

I am on last version 20_02, the one before where working too
I hope that you found your answer, if not, there is no need for the purchase of a certificate, you just have to accept the connection with the iot_box even if it's not providing a valid certificate
For this you have to open https://192.168.1.XXX and click on the right button to accept it
