Inventory/Pre-Order & Products

Question

We had the following questions, let me know if you can assist:
1. Is there a way to add a product in a way that has infinite inventory? I ask this because for new seasons we pre-order and would like to be able to complete the order.
2. If this is not possible, do we have to add a set amount to be able to fully process the order? or would we need to add the purchase app and set the vendor just like the inventory tutorial you have in the website.
2. When processing the order that has no inventory

You could set the product type as 'consumable'. You can order, receive, sell and deliver them. This could act as infinite inventory, however has other limitations like inventory valuations wouldn't include these products, reordering rules wouldn't trigger etc.

You can create product and set the Invoicing Policy to "Ordered quantities" when you creating a new sale order and select the product and confirm the sale order you can invoice it because you set the Invoicing Policy to "Ordered quantities".
For inventory process, you can process the delivery by setting the done qty manually and validate the delivery and the
product on hand qty will go into negative.
