Crowdfunding campaigns are centered in the general public, more than the "internal Users" of the platform.

Despite Odoo mostly focus on organization management, it offers enough tools for you to set up any workflow, like a Crowdfunding-Platform.

The first step is to define how you let Portal users to create campaigns ("Projects?"), how they can pledge money for their campaigns and rewards, how to follow the project progress (also manageable by the "Projects" app), and track payments.

Despite most of the base features are already implemented in Odoo, it would be better, if you had your own modules to track each campaign, and follow every progress for it, add the possibility for the user to set their custom pages for the project, track the funding Goals, list the project backers, show the backers tier list, invoicing every purchase, etc...

It's also important to set a feedback system for each project, like I previously said, creating your own models for this makes a lot of sense, either with Studio or by custom developments. 

Studio probably is enough for 90% of your needs, but it's possible that in some specific occasions, you might need to hire some programmers for custom developments, or at least to give professional look for the custom website pages, that track each project. 

It's doable, but definitely needs good preparation, and some forward-thinking regarding accounting, project management, moderating which projects are valid, account validation, and avoiding scammers from taking advantage of your platform.
