I want to have Odoo running from a USB key.  So, a full installation running from my USB key.

In this way I have a backup that I can actually access from any computer (running windows).

At present I have Odoo 8, 10 and 11 running on 2 different virtual machines but if my hard-disk would crash; all is gone. This I would like to prevent.  Of course I can make a backup but this does not allow me to quickly check some data from year 2018 for example.

I am looking for a way to install the 3 different Odoo's on a USB key., like they would be when installed on a server or virtual machine.

Is this possible and how should I go about. I hope you can give me suggestions (I am not a pro).

What you mean by accessible backup ?

do you mean accessible backup of the odoo folder and a database backup ?

if that yes you can sync odoo installation folder with your usb key and you can a database backup on your usb key .

let me know if you want install both versions as instances .

Do it in a virtual machine. or just copy paste the modules on your USB device.

But why do you need to back up an installed Odoo? You may need to backup your database, i think its better that way.
