Hi Narender,
To get analytics in your website, you have to register in the Google Analytics system, and there you get a Google Analytics Key that you have to paste in Configuration/Website Settings in the Google Analytics Key field. Then, all the statistics of your Odoo Website will appear in the control panel of Google Analytics.

Do we need to put the tracking code snippet into the html code?
You can just add your UA id in the website settings and it will be automatically added in html.
In 8: Settings > Website Settings
In 9: Website Admin -> configuration
