I am testing out odoo to see if I can replace quickbooks but cannot figure out how to post a simple sales receipt. I don't do quotations or invoicing - just post things in after I sell them so I can track sales tax I need to pay, etc.

You need to add the accounting app for it to book the entries automatically into your GLs
