Do you have an own module? if so write a translation file il8n/de.po
If you only want to do it in your current setup check "Übersetzungen -> Begriffe -> Übersetzte Begriffe" and search in the top right for "Old Source: Contracts". You will find a couple of hits, find those responsible and adjust the "Übersetzungswert" to "Verträge"

Hm, I would go to the database directly, search for the proper entry and modify it there. Maybe you find "suspicious" datasets by ordering them by create_date / write_date
