My apologies if this has already been asked, but I couldn't find the question.

I've built a SaaS application for my industry from scratch. It's becoming more difficult to add new features to it. I would like to know if it is possible to use Odoo on premise, customize and rebrand it without paying royalties?  The end goal is to exit by selling the company and software to a larger competitor.

Thanks

B.

There are two Editions of Odoo.

What you ask is possible with Odoo Community, but not with Odoo Enterprise.

The license agreements for both Editions are at https://www.odoo.com/documentation/user/14.0/legal/licenses/licenses.html

You will see, for Odoo Enterprise, that It is forbidden to publish, distribute, sublicense, or sell copies of the Software or modified copies of the Software.

Please get legal advice.

There are nuances about SaaS applications you will need to consider.

There are nuances about the way your code can be shared by those who obtain it (and the rights that others have to obtain it) that you will need to consider.

If you see enough value in the product you might prefer to develop and sell your application via the App store.  See https://apps.odoo.com/apps/vendor-guidelines
