Hi,
If you are using odoo enterprise, then you can use the odoo upgrade service to upgrade the db, and if there is any custom codes, you have to migrate it from your side.
The things to take of while migrating is the changes with the analytic tags as it is no more existing in 16. Please see this thread in twitter: https://twitter.com/rafaodoo/status/1641138242392031238
