I have been having problems with odoo shutting down several times with nearly any click on the site recently, should have plenty of hosting resources but hosting company says it keeps shutting down because of memory issues,   I have 4cpu 4gig ram plan now.  only 2 part time users, have many odoo apps installed but near zero data input, only using project for about 6 projects, and just literally a dozen contacts loaded.

hosting set up a new instance of odoo to try.  I did a database backup and was going to restore it to new instance.   the download backup was 546MB zip file.     Does that seem right?   Wondering if that is an excessive size causing problems?  I can't imagine a data file being very large at all when we haven't really input much into odoo.    We had some high resolution photos posted in odoo in some graphics/marketing projects, but I doubt that would be it.   I don't want to import/restore the data file if that is the problem, and create the same situation again.

if it is a problem, how do I go through the data to fix?

if not a problem, do I just do a restore and choose the zip file and everything will load into the new odoo instance?  (hoping it was an odoo setup problem causing the issue and a new instance will fix it)

any help?

thanks!

If there isn't a lot of data you've put into Odoo 546 MB is big. Usually it should be in single digits or just around that.

im guessing my graphics person uploaded hi resolution large file graphics into the projects app for graphics projects. any way to find those in the backup file and delete them? or just in the projects application and delete them?

Is there a way to have odoo automatically resize or compress large graphics files or other files that get uploaded? or do we just have to set a user policy on that?

thanks!
