Is there a way to make Project module to calculate time spent on tasks by counting difference in hours when that task was started (on specification stage) and ended.

Fro example task1 was started at 13:00 (it would count from one stage of task, like let say specification) and gone to 'Done' stage at 15:00. So it took 2 hours to finish it. After that it should show time spent 2 hours.

As it is now, I can only manually enter in work summary hours that were spent on tasks.

Does anyone have ideas how to bypass this issue?

Why do not use service ... and give cost for hour for each type of services

Maybe you didn't understand what I was asking. I don't need to calculate cost of time spent, what I need is automatic calculation of time spent on tasks taking into account when task was started and when ended

This is not really possible - Your could "Log in" to an Project wich will start the timer for a specific project but this is not working for a task - i think i did find once a module but i really cant remenber for sure that will also let you "sing in" for a task - this would come closest to what your request. I did not find it for Stages cause i guess stages are not ment for a start stop timer but to see if a task is finished over all.

It's been a long time since you posted this question. Why it wasn't done in v8 ? In task summary there is start time but as you said, time spent must be typed in manually ... why ? What is so difficult in calculate the time spent if task start is set automatically :):)

I've been wanting this feature for some time.  A great package that does do this very well is Standard Time.  I'd love to have a way to integrate the two.
