Hi there,

Can't find an answer to my problem though use should be ckick easy

         https://www.odoo.com/nl_NL/page/link-tracker  >>      | How does it work ? |        | No software / No code. |

the problem:

In MassMailing, in a mailing , I have a link label with the following url https://goo.gl/psf2zF

when I check the test email received the link is transformed as https://<hostname>/r/vIG/m/26

when I click on the link  I get a 404 error

In technical, parameters , system parameters

             web.base.url             is set to https://<hostname>

             web.base.url.freeze is set to 1

Is there something (other parameters, steps, ...) I still have to set up to get this working?

Or am I missing understanding of the concept ?

thanks

Hi Erwin,

sorry I am not yet - if ever - in all the known stuffs - so 'obvious' for me is not.

If I read you well, does that mean that all 'landing' of a link tracker should always be a page .

Meaning, if I want to make a data sheet available as pdf I have to land on a page wherein the link to the pdf will be available ?

thanks

what about using the CDN settings in Web admin ?

It is not possible to track links of an alien website/web page, only the owner of the website can track links (except of the NSA). That has nothing to do with CDN.

Thanks Erwin,

I was just reading over 301 Redirect

this enable redirection to pages on the same 'root' domain or to another domain

I was expecting that the short url generated by Link Tracker would support redirection to an external site like Google or a CDN to serve more heavier content.

https://goo.gl/psf2zF is a Google drive URL, not yours. For obvious reasons it is not possible to track links which are not under your/your Odoo's control. You should create the page in your Odoo CMS in order to use the link tracker.
