I will share our innovative approach to price list management using Odoo's standard PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) feature as the foundation. Our talk will provide practical insights and inspiration on how we extended the use of PLM to create our new PLC (Price List Change) feature, which streamlines the entire price list management workflow.

PLM is an essential feature in manufacturing that helps manage products throughout their lifecycle. It is impressive how Odoo's PLM provides a comprehensive view of a product's history, including its bill of materials, routing, and quality control. Our team recognized the potential of this feature beyond manufacturing and explored how we could use it for price list management. This approach aligns perfectly with Odoo's ideology of leveraging existing tools and technologies to create innovative solutions.

Our PLC feature extends the advanced price lists with an intuitive and user-friendly system that allows for quick and efficient changes to pricing. One of the key benefits of the PLC process is the integrated approval process, which ensures that all price list changes are thoroughly reviewed and approved before being activated. This eliminates the risk of errors and discrepancies in pricing, which can negatively impact businesses. Moreover, the PLC feature includes a revision log that archives every version of the price list, providing valuable insights into the pricing history of our products and services. With the added Date of Effectiveness feature, we allow price list changes to be applied on a certain date, which is also repurposed from PLM.

Finally, the PLC feature includes an integrated rejection workflow. Also repurposed, but this time from the CRM Lost Reasons. This allows us to quickly identify and address any issues with rejected price list changes, ensuring that our pricing remains accurate and up-to-date at all times.

Our PLC has become a game-changer for price list management and will make a significant impact on our customers' volume business.
