Founder and managing partner of WELDPLAST.EU, an authorised distributor / service center for Leister Technologies (Switzerland) in Czech and Slovak republic. He chose Netsuite ERP during the early days of the business in 2010 and decided to go with Odoo in 2021 after several (failed) attempts to move to a more suitable solution. Besides his executive role and everything Odoo related, he focuses on a large pipes factory project with Krah Pipes Germany.
To switch from a robust ERP software is a challenge and is more challenging with each year a company decides not to switch. The challenges could be outlined as these simple questions:
Are the capabilities of the new (promising) ERP solution on the level of our existing solution(s)?
How can we export/import data from ??? ERP to (in this case Odoo) ERP?
How can we make a backup of our current transactional data (sales, manufacturing, accounting etc.) and how to use them? Does it make sense to import them to Odoo?
These tasks are usually beyond the capabilities of most CEOs and they turn to an implementation partner where they seek answers to these fundamental questions as it is their responsibility. The aim of the talk is to provide a practical guide for inventory/manufacturing based businesses on how to switch from Oracle Netsuite to Odoo and the pros/cons of both solutions from the user as well as admin/developer perspective.
