Joël is the Department Manager for Business Solutions at Camptocamp. He was an early Odoo adopter and has been among the top contributors since 2006. He has worked as an analyst and solution architect on more than 70 projects delivered in various countries (CH, FR, UK, US). He has a deep knowledge of logistics and was involved alongside the Odoo team in the new WMS refactoring of Odoo v8.

Joël is also a founding member of the Odoo Community Association (OCA) and was president from 2014-2022. He is forty one years old and lives in Switzerland with his wife and three kids.

To meet the high traceability standards of Cosanum (medical industry), while optimizing transport and preparation costs, Camptocamp has developed for Cosanum the following features;

1. Save time by unleashing the potential of GS1 barcodes
- Standard behavior : Odoo scans barcodes and types it in a field, without any processing.
- Custom behavior : print and scan GS1 barcodes, all or part of the information (only the serial, or the reference ...) can be scanned and extracted to Odoo.
- Added values :
*save even more time when scanning GS1 barcode, extract just the right information needed.

2. Save space and money by enforcing a picking order on inventory operations
- Standard behavior : when loading a pallet or a trolley (product pack) users can pick components in any order.
- Custom behavior : picking operations can be configured so as to enforce a specific picking order.
- Added values :
* trolley storage optimization : boxes are picked and stored in the right order, maximizing space usage. This means that less trolleys will be needed, decreasing transport and storage costs.
*better forecasting : Odoo can predict how many trolleys will be needed, based on the sales order and the picking order (which define trolley composition).
The number of trolley needed for each delivery is known in advanced, this information makes it possible to optimize the preparation and carriage, saving time and money.

3. Achieve full traceability with advanced product pack report
- Standard behavior : Odoo gives a list of products stored in packs (pallet or trolley).
- Custom behavior : the list is detailed, we know what product is in which box, where the box is located, in which shelve, position and trolley.
- Added values :

In a few seconds, it is possible to locate a product, its box and the exact shelf and position on which it is stored. This means that any product or box, big or small, can be found in no time, which saves time and decreases the risk of error in the overall traceability.
