Elizabeth Vennari (elve)

Elizabeth Vennari has been with Odoo since 2021 as a Technical Recruiter. Prior to working at Odoo, Elizabeth worked as a credit analyst at HSBC and then as an agency recruiter at Robert Half in NYC. She joined Odoo to escape the corporate life and be part of a more innovative environment.

This past year, Elizabeth recruited for Buffalo’s summer software engineer internship, while coordinating intern housing and summer activities. She is also managing a workforce development project in Buffalo which will teach college students the core competencies needed to succeed at Odoo, and create a new recruitment funnel for the Buffalo office.

In addition to recruitment, Elizabeth is a singer and conductor and performs in Buffalo with several professional ensembles. She also runs an ensemble for younger professional musicians and will be directing a video game & movie music concert this coming November.

What is required to succeed at Odoo? We don’t require a college degree or a fancy school next to your name (although, if you have both, congrats!) We assess for curiosity, innovation, and scrappiness.

But as a recruiter or a hiring manager, how do you assess those traits? If someone says, “I am hardworking and detail-oriented,” what do you do to make them prove it? After all, we are results-oriented.

In this presentation, we will discuss some of the most common traits that we look for in a candidate and some potential questions/exercises that have been successful. This is a chance for you to recharge your interview process with valuable insights from the Buffalo New York recruiting team.
