Co-founder of KissPlanet with Sylvie Michel, a e-shop of sustainable and ethical products. KissPlanet exists for the public since March 1, 2019 and emploies 3 people full time. Mainly chief technology officer, Rudi adapts the tools made available by Odoo and others to the needs of KissPlanet. His background is technology, consulting and banking. Sylvie and Rudi are the "head and legs" of KissPlanet. Sylvie brings her entrepreneurship experience and Rudi his expertise of digitalisation of large companies.
KissPlanet uses Odoo for its entire value chain from the website, to accounting, through to logistics and client support.
Target audience: Small and medium enterprises, users and functional designers.
Key learnings:
- To make good choices, first, you need to understand how Odoo works
- Use available functionalities before thinking customisation
- Think 80-20 for the initial setup phase, but don't forget the 20 because flexibility of Odoo is huge
- The startup pack is a must-have
Value to the audience: hands-on experience from a startup company that has grown around Odoo, shared by people combining management and technical expertise.
Structure of your talk :
- Presentation of KissPlanet (vision, current stage of development, organisation, and infrastructure)
- Description of functional and technology needs
- A brief history of the technical choices (first wrong decision, change of provider and selection of Odoo) - Current Odoo setup and customisation - Challenges encountered - Way forward and further development envisioned - One year assessment of usage of Odoo (functional, technical, support, feedback from users and feedback from clients)
