Olivier joined the Odoo team in 2009. As an R&D engineer, he specializes in the technical aspects of the Odoo framework, the stability of the overall product, and all performance aspects.
He has a key role in the Odoo Cloud team as well, designing and running the Odoo SaaS platform. He also created the Odoo Security team, which puts him in a good position to act as the data protection specialist in the context of GDPR.
He also tries to follow the activities of the global Odoo Community, helping and connecting contributors with the Odoo team.
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into effect more than 1 year ago, opening a new era of data protection and privacy. By now most of the initial work for being compliant should be behind us. Yet at Odoo we still get weekly questions about GDPR, both from employees and customers, showing that this is still a hot topic and one that is far from clear for everybody.
As a follow-up of last year's presentation, this talk will brush up a quick reminder of key GDPR concepts, and look back at 1 year of GDPR implementation, in the world and at Odoo. What were the numbers and costs of the implementation? How did we handle data subject requests? How do we implement data retention rules? What about cross-border data transfers? Did we make DPIAs and how? How about those cookie banners?
And how can Odoo help you in the pursuit of compliance?
