From prototype to deployment in a few days
The Odoo.sh platform needed a modern, light and reactive interface - we made the choice to use the Odoo Javascript Framework to develop it. During the development of this Single Page App, a Python developer learned a lot about JS (modern and not-so-modern); this is his story.
Javascript amateurs welcome
This talk aims to show how a somewhat novice JS developer can develop an architecturally-sound javascript app by leveraging the Odoo JS Framework. In a nutshell, it will show the advantages of using the framework vs. rewriting everything from scratch when you're not a hardcore javascript developer.
Note that this talk will not be setting the framework against modern javascript frameworks (React, Vue.js, Angular2) - these are in different ballpark. Some key differences will be highlighted.
This talk will use a simple example (such as a Notes management app) and will have some live coding & demo. We will also have a member of the Odoo Framework team to answer more complex questions during the Q&A.
