Performance Advantage Company (PAC), established in 1992, is a privately-owned company specializing in the manufacture and marketing of high-quality tool mounting brackets, selling to customers in over 60 countries. Headquartered in Lancaster, NY, PAC primarily serves the Fire Industry, offering specialty tool mounting solutions for fire apparatus. In addition, PAC designs and builds products for the Military, Law Enforcement, EMS, Utilities, and Homeland Security markets.
The company's products are renowned for their ability to mount life-saving tools securely and efficiently, complying with rigorous standards such as NFPA 1901 and MIL-S901D. With a commitment to exceptional customer service, PAC ensures quick order fulfillment through a large inventory and offers a limited lifetime warranty on its products.
Before transitioning to Odoo, PAC operated using several disparate systems. They relied on Sage for inventory, orders, and accounting; Starship for parcel shipping; and a suite of Microsoft Office tools for various tasks. Outlook was used for customer communication, OneDrive and SharePoint for storing drawings, Bills of Materials (BoMs), and data, and Excel for inventory planning and ordering. This fragmented approach often led to inefficiencies and manual processes.
Working with the team at Cudio, the switch to Odoo brought significant efficiencies and streamlined PAC's operations. Now, with an integrated ERP and a single source of truth for data, order management became more seamless, allowing quotes, sales orders, RFQs, and POs to be sent directly through the system. Customer payments were streamlined, and accounting processes improved with the use of analytic accounting and cost centers.
Fully integrated shipping eliminated manual address entry and allowed for automated tracking notifications. Inventory management benefited from subcontracting workflows, real-time demand-based ordering, and the elimination of Excel-based planning. Manufacturing processes were enhanced with dynamic BoMs and work centers, while documents and spreadsheets linked directly to product pages allowed for better data management and analysis.
Overall, Odoo's comprehensive platform enabled PAC to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual tasks, enhance customer satisfaction, and allow management to focus on driving value with data they can trust.
