Hello community. Anyone knows how to set iCloud+ mailing accounts to your own domain in Odoo?
Odoo is the world's easiest all-in-one management software.
It includes hundreds of business apps:
- CRM
- e-Commerce
- Contabilidad
- Inventario
- PoS
- Project
- MRP

It always reports with
Server replied with following exception: b'[AUTHENTICATIONFAILED] Authentication Failed'
Odoo 18 CE
I mean:
- I have a custom email domain configured in icloud
- I want use one of email under this custom domain (or few of them) in Odoo (as catchall, etc..)
- But When I'm trying to use this custom email as username - it always throws error above :(
For both when using original account email (not from custom domain) it works well.
Hi there,
Yes — you can use your iCloud email with Odoo by configuring SMTP and IMAP properly. Here’s how:
Use SMTP host: smtp.mail.me.com on port 587, with SSL/TLS.
Use IMAP host: imap.mail.me.com on port 993, with SSL.
Don’t use your normal iCloud password — create an app-specific password from your Apple ID (under Security settings).
In Odoo, go to Settings → Outgoing Email Servers and Incoming Mail Servers (or Email aliases), and enter these credentials/settings.
Test the connection in Odoo; if there’s “authentication failed,” double-check the app password and SSL/TLS settings.
If you tell me your Odoo version and whether you enabled 2FA on your Apple account, I can give you the exact config steps.
Hope it helps
