The glTF™ (GL Transmission Format) is a royalty-free specification for the efficient transmission and loading of 3D scenes and models by applications. You can find more info at https://github.com/KhronosGroup/glTF/blob/master/README.md.
glTF 2.0 is also seeing industry support by companies such as Adobe, Google, Marmoset, Microsoft, NVIDIA, Oculus, UX3D, and more as well as prominent universities such as, University of Pennsylvania and Sapienza University of Rome. This format is used by Google model-viewer to easily display interactive 3D models on the web and in AR. You can find documentation here: https://modelviewer.dev/ or https://github.com/google/model-viewer.
The new Odoo widget adds a product view for 3D models in the glb format (binary gltf) so you can upload the file in the same way used to upload a picture in the backend. The 3D model is also available in the e-commerce app. The quality of the view is very good and you can compare with other renderers via this link https://modelviewer.dev/fidelity/.
