Hi everyone, quite new to odoo and struggeling a bit. I need to create custom filters or reports to see directly or export to excel.Within one app this looks ok and I get what I want but when I need filters or reports what are between more apps is there now way to see/find it. Any tips here to add it or to make them?
i.e. I need to filter/find some things releated to these apps: sales, stock & accounting.
Thx for the help.

Hi Wesley,

Sadly I don't think it's possible to have filters across multiple apps.

Great question - this is a common challenge many new Odoo users face when they try to generate reports or filters across multiple modules like Sales, Inventory (Stock), and Accounting.

By default, Odoo’s built-in reporting and filtering tools are limited when crossing multiple apps unless there is an existing relation (via models or fields) between them. However, here are some practical ways to achieve what you need:

  1. Studio App (Enterprise) – If you have Odoo Enterprise, you can use Studio to create custom fields or relational views linking Sales, Inventory, and Accounting models. This can help you build more complex reports or filters.
  2. Custom Development – For true cross-app reports, a custom module can be developed where data from multiple models is aggregated into a single view or report - this can even be exported to Excel with ease.
  3. Odoo Spreadsheets / BI Tools – You can also leverage Odoo Spreadsheet or external tools like Excel, Power BI, or Google Sheets using Odoo’s API (or direct PostgreSQL queries) to pull and merge the needed data.
  4. Custom Dashboards – Another approach is to build custom dashboards using tools like OwlJS or by extending Odoo’s web client, giving you a combined overview of data across apps.

👋 By the way, I represent YantraDhigham Labs Pvt Ltd, an experienced Odoo customization and development partner. We help clients exactly with these kinds of needs - building cross-app reports, custom Excel exports, and advanced filters tailored to your business processes.

Wish you all the best in your Odoo journey! 😊
