The posbox is not needed for that, it's just here to be an interface with the device.
The support of "offline" mode is 100% done by the POS client in Javascript not by the posbox.

Pywebdriver have exactly the same feature as the posbox (and soon more ;) )

Hi Sebastien,

What is your solution to losing connection to the main odoo server?  Can you accept transactions offline and then sync with the server when the network is restored?

I believe that is one of the reasons that a full odoo install was loaded on the pi.

Hi, for me the soft that you are going to install on the raspberry should be as simple as possible and should have less dependency as possible.
less dependency, less code mean less bug and less maintenance.

Pywebdriver is a really simple flask application that just expose webservice under http. I do not depend of postgresql and a big ORM.
For the postbox you have to install a full odoo with a Postgres. I think and it's me point of view, it's really overkill to have postgresql on a raspberry pi.

Before the end of the year, we will propose an official debian package for pywebdriver so it will be easy for anybody to test it. I will also share a documentation on how to extend pywebdriver in order to add new hardware support.

why did you chose to prefer pywebdriver over the posbox?
Are there disadvantages of the offical modules which made you choose that way?
