First, I have to say that I'm very shocked of how the management of Odoo decides to publish a new feature to the audience while it is still beyond maturity and not at all easily usable!
I'm talking about the feature of "+ Add a Property"
It is only useful and usable in the form view
In other views it is pure rubbish if it is available in it!
If you add it to List view, it will only show that you have property fields, it doesn't show if it has value or not
You can't find it in "Filters" or "Group By"
In Studio, it only has its own widget "Properties"
You can export it (with a very complicated result) and till now I couldn't find a way to Import it! see this post How to upload data to the new Properties fields in Odoo 16? I'm getting this error 'NoneType' object is not callable | Odoo
And there is not any documentation for it!
Indeed. I'm also looking for ways how to filter, group by and list these properties. It's basically useless if I cannot filter by these properties.
Hello Talal, what type of field did you choose?
Hi Mouhamadou,
I used an existing field, not a new field! Should I add a new field?
I still don't catch which is the advantage of using properties when you have Odoo Studio. I asked Ray about this on Twitter to Ray, but he didn't answer me. It seems they don't have that clear yet.
Hi,
I'm following the thread as I'm also interested in filtering and exporting the properties I created, otherwise it makes no sense to have them. We are using them to differentiate customer industry and if they are new sales or renewal, so both selections and checkbox.
Any update?
Hello,
Any update on this issue? I'm trying to use some custom properties in CRM but also would need to filter, group by and list these properties. I haven't found any documentation about this new feature.
