This Masterclass will be held over two days: Tuesday, September 22nd and Wednesday, September 23rd.
Entrance to this Masterclass includes breakfast, lunch and drinks during the two days.

Prerequisites

Attendees should have intermediate knowledge of Odoo and a basic understanding of javascript.

Why attend?

This year, Owl (Odoo’s javascript UI framework), has undergone a major refactoring. Owl 3 introduces a new reactivity model based on signals and a completely new plugin system. At the same time, many features have been simplified or redesigned, significantly changing how components are written, composed, and maintained. These changes improve correctness, performance, and long-term maintainability of UI code, but they also require non-trivial migrations for existing Owl applications. This training provides a hands-on, in-depth exploration of Owl 3, focusing on its core concepts—including signals, component lifecycle, rendering semantics, hooks, and plugins—and their practical usage within the Odoo web client.

Specifically, the training will cover:

-Owl 3.0: architecture and core concepts 
-The Odoo javascript framework design principles 
-Writing and organizing javascript code in the Odoo web client and website 
-Migration strategies from Owl 2.x to Owl 3.x
