I'm using Odoo version 18, and have tried using routes with no rules to test if that will do the trick but it's not working as intended and a DO is being generated. My workflow relies on the DO not generating since it will avoid having multiple DO's for a single item. What can I do to resolve this?

Hello Rick,

It is the standard in Odoo to create delivery orders immediately after the sales is confirmed. For some customers, we had to create a separate module in order to block that.

You may alternatively change the reservation method of the product in the delivery settings as shown below. It will not prevent the system from creating the DO but at least, it will be in the waiting state and not automatically ready for delivery.

In order to get better help, you may give more precision about your business process.

btw, I have never seen multiple delivery orders created without reason by the system. Can you show an example and explain how this could happen?
