Is there a way to see how many OPP/Leads have at least 1 activity in a certain period?

You can add opportunity as a custom group on the pivot report
While on reporting > activities menu, you can click on pivot report 'total' to add custom group Opportunity.
This report is limited to completed activities only and the period you can specify in the filter
On the activities reporting pivot table the data is count of activities, you can however insert this pivot table to a spreadsheet and create count of opportunity (rows)
Please be mindful that this report only counts completed activities. You can get a count of opportunities which have activities scheduled from list view of "My Activities" menu and removing the filters (below the search field between favorites and view buttons

when I'm doing this he gives me the count of all activities but can I add a filter so that he only counts the opp. I don't really care about how many activities more about on how many opp/leads they are working?
