You'll hear from many Odoo developers "don't use Studio!" and "we can just write code for that." However, Studio capabilities have gotten quite powerful and reliable. Studio should be an important part of customizing/configuring your DB to meet your business needs. In an examples-laden session we'll cover:
- General guidelines for using Studio for new functionality
- Plan it out (gather business requirements, make some notes or a sketch, impact to existing)
- Be safe (work on staging if you have the option, take a backup before work)
- Test
- Rollout and Adoption
- Advanced relational custom fields, sublists, and sublist management
- Add lines to CRM Opportunity
- Add Many2One and other custom fields to the line form
- Add a custom menu to manage the new Many2One values
- Starting to understand the View code that is behind your changes/additions in Studio
- Conditions-based approval workflow
- Example of auto-reject orders priced below the floor price
- Expanding the Filter and Search capabilities
- Adding print templates and how to switch from WYSIWYG to code
- Create your own apps using Studio
