Ingeniería e Hidráulica Cardeña is a company with more than 25 years of experience in the activity of the integral water cycle. They are specialized in the integral automation of the water cycle, covering many areas such as the assembly of mechanical, electrical, automation and communication systems. The company provides complete and customized solutions to optimize water management processes. This hydraulic engineering company manages the total process of the water cycle, from its extraction in wells to the final consumer, thus offering a global service.


A need for efficiency


After so many years of experience behind them, Ingeniería Hidráulica Cardeña (ihC), began to encounter various challenges that meant a loss of efficiency in management. The first examples they have been able to give us of this are: the control of tasks, the precise traceability of purchase orders and sales associated with projects, as well as the effective management of inventory. All of these are fundamental pillars in the successful management of a project of this size.

The magnitude and nature of these projects meant that ihC's technicians needed a solution that would allow them to attach their task parts and record the equipment used in each of them. They also needed to optimize their clients' budgets. 

The tool used so far did not give them this flexibility, so they began the search for a new management system. Along the way they evaluated other options, such as Holded, but finally opted for Odoo.

Ease of implementation

Once the solution was decided upon for their quest for greater efficiency, Cardeña hydraulic engineering began the implementation of the solution. They define the overall process as well-managed and efficient. They highlight an adequate change management, even making the team adapt quickly to the tool thanks to the flexibility and the ability of Odoo and the implementation team to adapt to their way of working.

In implementations of systems such as Odoo, we often encounter the biggest problem in the process from employees accustomed to old practices or being less fluent with these digital tools. It is a common challenge, but one that is always overcome. In the case of ihC it was no different.

With a more analog profile among ihC colleagues, with little or no experience with digital tools such as Odoo, they found the only obstacle to this implementation. However, a well-structured implementation in phases, all of them explained in a clear and efficient way, was key to overcoming this challenge.

Following the Quickstart implementation methodology, they started with the project module, followed by the sales, purchasing and accounting modules. Following this method allowed for a progressive and orderly transition from one tool to another, thus giving the staff a chance to adapt to the change.

For ihC, ease of implementation was a key point in minimizing adaptation times significantly. In addition, they highlight the importance of the gradual approach taken by the implementation team, as it allowed them to focus on the company's priorities and facilitated the seamless integration of all processes into their daily operations.

Improvement at all levels

As we were initially told by Cardeña Hydraulic Engineering, their main challenge was the efficient management of projects and their tasks. After a successful implementation, they highlight that the project module was key to the centralization and integration of all related tasks, thus improving their organization. It also allowed them to establish more precise control over the activities and resources allocated. A combination that has led to a considerable improvement in efficiency.
