Hi Arthur,

If you haven't already I'd recommend getting a copy of this book:

It's well worth it and will give you a massive head start if you're new to the platform.

Many thanks for your quick answers ! I will definitely be having a look at Atom and Komodo Edit.

Luke, you are probably right about v9. The website is only a 7 weeks project (I'm a trainee) but it aims to last for at least a few years.

I will keep the community in touch about the project, it's too early to disclose it yet but it might be of interest to many amongst us. ;)

Cheers everyone, have a nice day.

Works nicely with CyberDuck:

I suggest targeting 9.0, lots of nice new features for website (portal, etc), and by the time you finish development the community adding will likely have caught up considerably.

Hello everyone,

I'm a junior web integrator, about to start developing my first theme for Odoo's CMS. As stated in the title, I'm looking for an adequate tool in order to do so.

Jetbrains' IDEA family of IDEs seems to be my thing, thanks especially to their good integration of various frameworks' syntaxes, var/class memory, etc. I've dug into JB repos and found no plugin that could 'teach' them the dark ways of qWeb, which is sad.

What would be your best advice, so as to which I should use ? Is it delusional to hope for an IDE-type experience ? Should I just bootstrap Sublime with a few helpers and get going ?

As a bonus question, would you rather recommend using v8 or v9c, given the latter's lack of community extensions ?

A great many thanks in advance.

Arthur de Sarrieu
