This is a common scenario for Indian businesses with multiple outlets/branches (physical or virtual) operating under one GSTIN and a single eCommerce website. we want users to:

  • Select a branch (location/outlet) when shopping online,
  • See stock and products only available at the chosen branch,
  • Place and pay for the order, which is then processed/delivered by that branch,
  • All under one GSTIN, multiple branches and one Odoo website.

How can we achieve this in Odoo 18 EE eCommerce?

Yes, this can be achieved in Odoo 18 Enterprise with a combination of Website, Inventory, and Multi-Company / Multi-Warehouse configuration.

Switch Company Context: only for developer. But how the end users (Portal users ) select the branch or warehouse and place order?

Use multi-company setup in Odoo 18 to manage multiple branches/outlets, and assign each website/eCommerce shop to a specific company.

🔧 Steps:

  1. Enable Multi-Company:
    • Go to Settings → Enable Multi-Companies (Developer Mode must be active).
  2. Create Companies (Branches/Outlets):
    • Go to SettingsUsers & CompaniesCompanies → Create a new company for each outlet.
  3. Create Websites for Each Branch:
    • Go to WebsiteConfigurationSettings → Under Website, assign a specific company to each website.
  4. Switch Company Context:
    • Use the top-right company switcher to manage data specific to each branch.
