Pentaho Reports (+ Selections Saving)

WilldooIT Pentaho Reports Connector

WilldooIT is Australia's first Odoo Gold Partner and most experienced and awarded Odoo partner in the region.

Our in-house team works with businesses across a vast array of industries to provide the analytic, project management and technical skills to ensure your Odoo implementation delivers exceptional value to your business and provides a firm platform for growth.

Before you Purchase

This module is not suitable for installation on Odoo.sh, as there is a need to install and run a java component on the server.

The Odoo side is distributed in 4 modules. This module provides a simple scheduler running daily reports. The reports may not accept any parameters. If you wish to schedule reports which accept parameters, you will need to acquire the complete package. The scheduled reports can be sent to any number of recipients.

In the Odoo Apps store, this module is bundled with the Pentaho Odoo Core. If you have already purchased the Pentaho Odoo Core and are just wanting to acquire the Scheduler add-on, you only need to pay the incremental value.

In this Package

All features of Pentaho Reports for Odoo. PLUS:

Group Reports To Execute

Report actions can be chosen to be executed as a group. Not just restricted to Pentaho reports. If the selection set module is loaded, then the action can be chosen with a set of selections.

Choose Recipients

Recipients can be chosen, and Odoo messaging will attach the reports for those selected.

Odoo Cron

The standard Odoo scheduler is used to run the report at chosen frequencies.

Alternate Packages Available

  • Pentaho Reports for Odoo is not a bundle, and only includes the core of the Pentaho reports connector. It is the module that provides communication between Odoo and Pentaho, and is the module which builds dynamic wizards to prompt for report variables.
  • Pentaho Reports (+ Selections Saving) is a bundle which includes the core module, and pentaho_report_selection_sets "Pentaho Report Selections Saving" add on. That allows parameters to be stored and recalled. There are a number of formulae that can augment the parameter recall functionality in order to provide clever and dynamic default values.
  • Pentaho Reports (Complete Package) is a bundle which includes the core module, the above module, THIS module, as well as a bridging module allowing the 3 to work together.

Instructions

Core Instructions

For instructions on the java component, and installing and configuring the core module, please refer to the core documentation at <https://apps.odoo.com/apps/modules/11.0/pentaho_reports/>.

Report Scheduler

A new option is added to the menus: * Settings / Technical / Automation / Report Scheduler

From here, a report schedule group can be defined. The description will be included in the message or email body.

The reports to be executed are be added on the Reports tab.

Users to be messaged are added to the Users tab.

The group of reports can be executed by clicking Run Now on either the list or form view.

Once defined, the schedule group needs to be associated with a standard Odoo schedule task. (An example schedule task is created by this module, and is titled Report Email Scheduler). On the Technical Data tab, the name of the schedule group needs to be included in the action argument.

e.g. model.run_report_email_scheduler(scheduled_name='Report Group 1')
